NELLI Has a Day at the Beach

By John White

July 12 was the annual Lobster Fest held at Steve Smith's house on Plum Island in Newbury, Ma.  Now there's nothing like a summer day at the beach, but add lobsters, steamers, chicken, hamburgs, hot dogs, and 40 or so Lotus enthusiasts, and you have a happening!

Ain't summer great!

The weather couldn't have been better, and the food - oh my, the FOOD! Steve's house sits right on the beach and has a panoramic view from New Hampshire to Gloucester.  So we swam, and we ate, and we flew a kite, and we ate, and we talked about Lotus cars, and... yeah, we ate.

Will Jan arrives - finally!

There was an excellent turnout of Lotus cars with a couple of Europas, a few Elans, a Z-Seven ( Z-tech twincam with 210hp - yes it's very fast), an M-100 and a bunch of Esprits including a beautiful yellow V8.

We even picked up a new mascot.  Maybe we should have a contest to pick a name.  He's not too cute, but he has a lot of friends who like to party.  Thanks to all who helped make this such a great event, and special thanks to Steve and Judy Lynn.
